Hechtia rosea x lanata
This cross of Hechtia rosea x lanata by Ray Lemieux was his attempt to get a curly leaved plant with a dense red inflorescence. The parents, a nice form of Hechtia rosea with a large, bright red inflorescence, a color he hoped to pass on to the cross and Hechtia lanata, a broad leaved plant with silvery leaves that curl at the tips, and a massive, thickly branched inflorescence. If it turns out his way, it will be spectacular. So far the new cross looks more like the H. rosea parent with few thickly succulent leaves that are green but turning a rusty color.
