Ledebouria socialis
A short fat green above ground bulb, long green leaves with darker green spots. Bulbs have a glossy surface clothed in peeling, papery tunics that prevent water loss. Ledebouria is a genus of deciduous or weakly evergreen bulbs only recently established as a genus apart from Scilla.Â
Ledebouria is found in India, Madagascar, and Africa (mostly southern Africa) mostly in areas of summer rainfall in subtropical savannas and grasslands in the eastern and northeastern parts of southern Africa, suited to dry shaded conditions, it can stand severe neglect and still reward you with showy foliage and blooms.Â
