Rhipsalis clavata
This is an interesting and very decorative species is an epiphyte in the Atlantic Forest of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo states of Brazil. A fine stemmed, heavily branching species with short internodes and clavate or club shaped stems somewhat resembling species of Hatiora. When blooming it has a heavy set of flowers making quite a show. The flowers are white, about a half inch across and are bone at the tips of the stems. Easy to grow in a hanging pot. When mature it can hang up to 5 feet or more! Our original plant came to us from the collection of the Marie Selby Botanical Garden with the accession number of SEL 1977-2032.
